Anatolian Shepherds possess great endurance, courage and agility. Originally from Turkey, Anatolians make excellent stock guard dogs, or lovable, loyal family pets. Great with Children. They have been carefully bread through a set of very demanding circumstances for the purely utilitarian purpose of being able to guard with wisdom and independence; this is a working guard dog without equal, with a unique ability to protect lifestock and homes. Full grown Anatolians are bold, alert, intellligent, and observant. They are calm, unless challenged. These dogs are tall and powerful, yet not massive in build. Long or short hair available.
